KG Primary School Sports Day '09

Kelvin Grove Primary School held its annual sports day today (25/6/09) at its sports compound at L'Estrange Terrace, about 500 metres from QUT Kelvin Grove campus. More than 300 pupils and students from preps to primary 5 took part in the one day competition and the participants were categorised into 4 houses: Herbet, Petrie, Lutchywe, and Bowen.

More than 10 discplines of sports were competed and Herbert was declared as the overall winner, followed by Petrie, Lutchywe and Bowen. The winner received a challenge trophy presented by the school principal, Ms Macnamara.

The competition is usually held before the school takes a mid term break and the the 3rd term will commence on 14/7/09.

You know in some countries, and especially in North America, the term elementary school is preferred. Children generally attend primary school from around the age of four or five until the age of eleven or twelve.
