Five feet Snake snared!

An officer got a shock of his life when he faced off with a five meter snake coiled over on stairs at a leading government department in Gadong yesterday (11/4/07).

According to him, he was about to step on the upper part of the stairs when he spotted a rounded object coiling at the entrance of the double storey building. Suspecting amiss, he backtracked and his apprehension proved correct when the beast unleashed a hissing sound probably to scare off strangers and to defend itself from unsuspecting attack.

He quickly alerted the Beribi’s Fire and Rescue Department and he commended the department’s quick response to snare the culprit.
